The Aussie Pickleball Bros love trying out the latest Pickleball equipment. We take gear reviews seriously—but we also like to keep things fun, approachable, and easy to understand. Our goal is to help you find great Aussie pickleball equipment for your playing style without getting too technical.
Our Testing Process
Every piece of equipment we review—whether it’s a paddle, net, shoe, or accessory—is tested in real-world play. We take each product through multiple sessions, considering different skill levels and playing styles. Here’s how we break it down:
- Power (if applicable) – How well does the paddle or net system affect gameplay force?
- Control/Feel – Does the gear offer precision or responsiveness?
- Spin (paddles only) – Can it grip and spin the ball effectively?
- Comfort – How does it feel over long sessions? Easy on the body?
- Durability – Is it built to last, or does it wear down quickly?
We also evaluate gear through the lens of the three Bros. Our skill levels range from beginner, intermediate, and advanced. So our views can differ and we can provide feedback based on that wide range of skill levels.
A product might feel completely different to an experienced player than it does to someone just starting out. We try to reflect that in our reviews and we make sure beginners new to the sport can get value from our recommendations.
The “No, Yo, Bro” Rating System
Instead of giving gear a dry numerical score, or a complex rating system, we use our signature No-Yo-Bro scale. It is simple, fun, and straight to the point. It runs on a 1 to 5 scale with three major categories:

Every piece of pickleball gear we test gets rated on our 1–5 scale where you get a No, Yo, or Bro—based on real court experience from the Bros.
- No – (1–2 out of 5) Not recommended. This gear didn’t meet our expectations in key areas like control, comfort, or value. May have serious downsides.
- Yo – (3 out of 5) Good. This gear would suit most players and we think it is pretty good and could still be worth your consideration.
- Bro – (4–5 out of 5) HECK YES! A sweet piece of equipment. It has something special about it, and the Bros don’t just like it, they LOVE it. This gear delivers and it’s something we’d happily use any day of the week.
We believe this system keeps our reviews relatable, consistent, and fun. All while still giving you the clarity you need to choose the right gear.
