Pickleball Health
Health Benefits of Pickleball Workouts Revealed
It’s official, Pickleball has huge health and mental health benefits, according to a recent study.
The Apple Heart and Movement study analysed over 250,000 pickleball and tennis workouts recorded via Apple Watches. It compared pickleball and tennis workouts. With pickleball sessions lasting longer than tennis workouts. But tennis workouts were higher intensity (as expected).
Other interesting data includes Pickleball workouts have surpassed tennis workouts for the first time. And pickleball and tennis players had improved mental health with lower rates of depression.
The study is fantastic as it has data to prove that a low-impact sport like pickleball, has great health benefits. And playing pickleball is great for a player’s health and mental wellbeing. Which should hopefully encourage more people to pick up a paddle.
It’s a great story, and it has been picked up via various news outlets.

Pickleball Creates Audible Headaches
An interesting article that was smashed together following the release of the Apple research data. It links to various pickleball articles on the news.com website. It does touch on noise concerns in the US, which is an ongoing issue. Although it hasn’t been raised or reported as a problem in Australia yet.
As Pickleball gets more and more mainstream press, it’s worth a quick read. Pickleball headaches via News.com
Pickleball in Batemans Bay, NSW
A great story about regional pickleball players in Batemans Bay. Local residents have fallen in love with Pickleball and like to “have a crack”. This social group has evolved into a competitive group and they recently traveled to Adelaide to compete. How awesome is that?
A great story, as people that never played any sport are competing and loving the game of Pickleball. Read about the Pickleball Bateman’s Bay residents and their Pickleball adventure.
Pickleball Insanity
Pickleball Noise is a “National Issue” in Martha’s Vineyard, USA
Martha’s Vineyard is an exclusive area known for mansions and millionaires. And this little area with 17,000 residents is looking to potentially ban pickleball completely. Some residents don’t like the noise and pickleball has been described as a “National Issue”. So it could potentially be banned.
Interesting to read this story in light of the recent Apple Study on the health benefits of Pickleball. And banning pickleball outright is a little extreme. Let’s see what happens on this one.

Golden Bachelor Pickleball Drama
The Bros picked this like a dirty nose when they first reported on the Golden Bachelor Pickleball show. It’s a series that had a golden-aged Hunk, seeking love amongst a group of older ladies. And this guy loves playing pickleball.
In the latest episode, a group pickleball date with 8 women turned into a tournament. The winners were to appear alongside Gerry (The Golden Bachelor) in a Pickleball magazine photo shoot. Ohh Laa Laa. As predicted, it promoted pickleball, alongside a healthy dose of human drama. And one of the ladies went home. Life can be tough when you are looking for love on the pickleball court.
