NPL Recruit Steve Wood to “Hockey Stick” Pickleball in Australia.
Another big news day for the NPL, with Steve Wood signing on as an NPL non-executive Board member for the next three years. This is great news, as Steve Wood was the CEO for Tennis Australia and the Australian Open Event for almost a decade. His goal is to “bring pickleball to the mainstream Australia sporting public in the quickest and best way possible.”
That level of experience from Tennis Australia will be fantastic. Steve will help drive and shape the NPL expansion plans across Australia and Australasia. It will be interesting to see what can be taken from Tennis and be applied to Pickleball. Just what is needed to make Pickleball a Mainstream sport everyone is playing? Buckle up, it will be fun to find out.

Central Coast Pickleball Skyrockets at Gosford Tennis Club
The Bros picked up a small story from Gosford, where pickleball interest is skyrocketing. Six new Courts have opened up at Gosford Tennis Club, and a Gosford Pickleball League tournament has already kicked off.
A new program called “Racket Rumble” has been designed to get Teenagers into Pickleball and to support the local community. All amazing things. And a Grand Opening of the Gosford Pickleball Courts is scheduled for December 9th.

Andre Agassi Joins Komodo Pickleball to alleviate “Borderline Obsession”
The Bros have covered Andre Agassi’s Pickleball Action over the last year. He is a tennis legend with a fantastic story. And now his legend continues into Pickleball. Agassi has already played in high-profile matches against John McEnroe. And he is competing with his wife Steffi Graf at the upcoming Pickleball Slam 2. And now Agassi has taken it up a notch to join the ownership group of Komodo Pickleball.
Agassi described his relationship with Pickleball as a “borderline obsession”. And as an old tennis technology buff, he is equally fascinated with pickleball tech. The specific and repeated references to equipment mean that we should have an Agassi line of paddles in no time. Maybe even for the upcoming Pickleball Slam 2? It is an interesting article depicting the depths of Agassi’s love for Pickleball.

McEnroe Promotes OWL paddles that reduce noise by 50 percent
Meanwhile, a Pickleball-playing ex-tennis player who openly hates Pickleball is John McEnroe. Fueled by his hate, his ego and his big mouth, McEnroe is doing the promotion circuit for Owl Pickleball paddles.
With a new “USA Pickleball Quiet Category certified paddle”, these new paddles are said to reduce Pickleball noise by 50%. This is a huge development and could be a game-changer to reduce noise complaints. The new Owl paddles were demonstrated by McEnroe and NFL Quarterback Drew Brees. And it seems like these first noise-suppressing paddles really work. This is fantastic news for those players conscious of the noise. But these things are not CHEEEP. Take a look at the Owl site to look at the OWL Pickleball paddles and get a fright at the price.

LED Light Up Pickleball Balls for Night Time Play
The Bros have filed this story in their “What the Heck” category, because…. What the heck? Midnight Pickleball players may benefit from these balls, but they do seem really cool. The balls require batteries and have up to 12 hours of playtime. So maybe midnight Pickleball is a thing.
